Question / Help Preview performance

Hi,

I have some question about the preview.
I just need to have a screen mirror of my first monitor, and it looks like the preview of OBS is perfect.
So i am not using other feature, just the preview, and i have questions.
I am on Windows 10 x64 with a GTX 980 and a Intel Graphic card (from the CPU/motherboard)

1) I have seen than when i start the preview of my monitor, OBS takes 20% of my GPU. This is normal ?
2) It is possible to optimize this ?
3) Does OBS Studio have better performance on preview ? or this is the same code as OBS ?
4) It is possible to choose what GPU to use to do the preview ? I want to use the Intel card and keep the GTX 980 with 0% load of OBS
5) For OBS Studio, i would love to set the main preview windows in fullscreen...

Thank you

Yes, as when you are previewing it enables the streaming encoder for load testing purposes, as OBS is a livestreaming tool by design. Settings->Advanced, check 'Disable encoding while previewing' if you don't want it to load-test on preview.

OBS Studio is a new codebase, and at present does not enable the encoder by default.

The preview causes almost zero GPU load. It just uses the GPU for scaling and compositing, which is extremely low impact.

Right-click the preview window in Classic or Studio, and enable Projector Mode.

Be aware that OBS is not a video mixing application by design, as it sounds like that's what you're trying to use it for. You will very likely run into some issues trying to use OBS to run display video at a live event, as it's meant as a livestreaming tool rather than a video mixer.
