Question / Help Preview Issues with Extremecap U3

Hello.

I just purchased this device a while back, I have been doing a few tests with it and I am liking it so far... however, there seem to be a few issues when I try to use it as a source in OBS. The source captures my PS3 main screen with strange flickers and errors. Another issue would be the fact that it has a strange zoomed in and mirrored image of some sort.

I tried changing to different resolutions but to no avail, this is odd.

What is causing this? It only happens on some games, but in RECentral this doesn't happen at all. Any ideas?

Pictures have been provided comparing this issue, to what it normally looks like in RECentral on preview.

This looks like the result of using the wrong input format. Make sure the input on the device matches what your'e sending to it.

Whoops, it has to be like that across all of the devices pretty much.

I had to go into my display settings via the PS3 and the device, for example- 720p - 1280x720 etc

Then in OBS you can edit it however you want. Thanks a lot, that was very clumsy of me.

Picture looks good now though.

It would get annoying pretty fast to have to keep changing resolutions depending on which game you're playing, so I guess you should just stick with newer games, so you won't have to flip between resolutions etc.

Seems like you can't really have all of them checked, oh well.

Also extremely late, but I have a fix that worked for me give it a shot under your webcam properties in OBS tick "file output format" and change it to MJPG

i had flickering running my webcam with anything over 480p, now i can have webcam at 1080p and extremecapu3 at 1080p

also using c920 btw hope it helps and have a good one
