Question / Help Pre recording smooth, lags when recording

So before I record, the “recording” and game (hl2.exe) is smooth. But when I actually record, the game itself (not obs) lags a TON. Can someone help me fix this? Idk if my pc can’t handle it or something; it’s just really choppy when I record.

same! Im trying to figure out this as well. I have a i7-8700k and rtx 2070 and lags really bad on playback
