Bug Report Possible Audio bug - Need help

When attempting to monitor my mic audio under the advanced audio settings, I think I've run into a bug that I can't seem to fix. I have two audio devices (mic and desktop), and media sources which occasionally play audio.

Simply put, I went to the advanced audio settings to test audio levels with monitor and output setting. I then turned monitoring off. As expected, I do not hear anything in my headphones. Now my mic is picking up sound (via the levels in the mixer), but it's not going to desktop audio. I'm noticing this is also true for any media source with sound that has the similar monitor off setting. Monitor and Mute setting also works the same as monitor and output. Currently, the only way my desktop audio is able to capture sound, is either through my pc itself, or if I set my mic and all of my media sources to monitor. Basically anything that I can hear with my headphones.

Also I have a digital mic, so there is lag. There is about a half-second delay when I talk before I hear it in my headphones. This is because I'm processing it - it is not dry. I cannot operate with this setup, as imagine your inner voice having a half-second delay before you get feedback.

In my sound playback devices tab, my headphones are also my default device. My record input is my mic. All of my sample rates are in sync with my mic (48khz).
In OBS audio Settings, Desktop audio device is my headphones.
Mic audio device in OBS is my mic being routed to a digital mixer, into a virtual audio cable. This audio cable is my audio device.

Again, the mic/aux in the mixer is showing green whenever I talk - so are my media sources. But they are not being picked up by my desktop audio unless i throw on some form of monitoring via the advanced tab.

Any ideas what went wrong? Is this a bug?

Sometimes, its better to just disable all the desktop audio devices and mic/aux audio devices in the Audio category settings.
Then, add audio input capture and audio output capture devices and handle them separately.

I don't understand what you are saying. You're saying go to the audio settings tab, then disable all audio. Then what do you mean add audio imput capture and output separately? What do you mean by this? How can I do that?
