Poor quality recording, text somewhat hard to read.

Ive tried most settings and the auto wizard but i still have consistently bad quality recordings with hard to read text and off colours. also tried a clean reinstall of obs still no change. My laptop which is less powerful somehow has better recording quality?

Cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core
Gpu: Radeon RX580 series 8gb
Memory: 64gb

Please restart OBS and perform a test stream/recording for more than 30 seconds doing as you normally do, including playing games, full camera or whatever you normally do.
Now look inside Help menu. Upload the current log file and paste the url to the log in here. Click on the Analize button to start troubleshooting common issues.

For recording, use CQP intead of CBR or VBR.
Set the CQ level between 23 and 15 (lower = better quality) Start at 23 and go to a better quality in small increments and compare results.
Keyframe: 0
Preset: Quality
Profile: high
Max B-frames: 4 (if you are going to edit later)

Or even better, instead of advance settings use simple mode and chose from one of the preset
