Poor Quality Audio on recording in OBS

DJ recording into OBS. Audio sounds fine through monitor speakers but playback of recorded session sounds 'thin' and 'tinny'. Audio capture levels are set the same for each scene and all background devices are muted.

Anyone help me here? - it's been a long frustrating time trying to sort the issue out and I can't help but think it's a set up issue.
