Question / Help plenty of issues out of the blue(maybe i changed something?)

Hey so i was trying to change certain things ( i honestly cant remember what it was, nothing rediculous just changing max bitrate etc) to lower the quality on my stream from 1050p to something more suitable for the average user. Anyways, im getting lag when i close OBS randomly, dropped frames (alot) people say they are unable to watch my stream anymore. Could i get some help? not sure what i can give you to help me fix this

Have a look at your own logs, they are time stamped. And just analyze the problem. At the end of each stream, OBS will add some statistics about that session; a bit about late frames, dropped frames and a profiler block. Late frames are your PC falling behind, dropped frames are your connection falling behind.

You can just try and figure out when exactly it was that this problem first appeared and have a look at the last log before that time, to see what the difference is. A quick glance at your logs does suggest your connection may simply not be able to stream 1050p properly. One example I found was a session where you streamed at 1500 Kbps and you ended up having roughly 25% dropped frames in that session. Which really suggests you have a fairly limited upload speed.

Given that fact I personally would actually recommend stepping down from 1050p and using OBS' ability to downscale the resolution. At first glance you might think -- "Well, what's that gonna do?". What it'll do is enabling x264 (the encoder working behind the scenes) to use your fairly limited bandwidth on a far less overwhelming number of pixels and consequently produce a higher quality on that reduced number of pixels.

To determine just what you can stream at, run an upload test here, making sure to test to a server near the one you have been streaming to. To get a clear picture of what your connection is capable of to that specific server.

basically, whats happening is my ping is super fucking high and its always red and i drop a shit ton of frames whch wasnt happening before. Is there anything i can do to fix that? or am i randomly screwed. I tried downscaling it but it didnt make much of a difference
