Hello OBS DEV Team, if this is not the proper channel then please direct me to the correct one.

OBS currently has a software bug in version 29.1.1. This issue happens when OBS Studio is left on for an extended period of time.
The issue is that the audio will begin to lag. A workaround is to close and reopen OBS Studio.

Please check below for additional details.

Setup:
External Device > HDMI > (HDMI-R) HDMI Recorder > OBS Input Source

HDMI Recorder: Video Capture Card, 4K Cam Link Card HDMI to USB USBC Capture Card, 1080P 60FPS Video Capture Device for Gaming, Streaming, Compatible with Mac OS Sys
OBS Input Source: (Device) USB Digital Audio

How do you determine the loss of sync? Do you watch the stream or recording? Or do you use the Monitor?

OBS's Monitor has been known for a long time to drift out of sync, because it was coded on a bad assumption and never fixed despite a bunch of requests and bug reports. If that's how you determine sync, then that's probably the problem, and not the input device.

If that's your problem, then anything that disrupts the flow of audio to the Monitor will fix it...temporarily. No need to restart OBS or even the stream or recording, but you do need to intentionally glitch the Monitor periodically. If you can do it without affecting the main Output (change the routing and change it back, duplicate the source for each destination and blink the mute for one of them, etc.), then that's really all that's needed.
