Hey guys I'm at my whitts end! Please can someone help!

I recently brought an EVGA XR1 Lite to stream my xbox series X to twitch. After defeating so many hurdles I've fallen at this one and I've spent the last 15 hours or more researching through forums, YouTube and Google and am still no closer to the answers I am looking for.

I'm trying to stream with my voice and my friends voices through xbox game chat. In YouTube videos people are saying "change your party output settings to headset and speakers" implying that it is infact possible to get your party chat through OBS via a headset in my controller.

Yet other videos say it isn't possible whatsoever. And what il need to do is download the xbox app through the PC, and do it that way.

Which is true? And if it is the case of having to do it through the PC, is there anyway I can get game chat through OBS, I play alot of Sea Of Thieves, where interactions with other players are crucial, so if I cannot talk to them it takes away from not only my experience but also the experience of any potential viewers.

I also have the game sound coming through my headset when playing, which would be a hassle not being able to use if I had to use the headset in a PC as just a microphone.

Before purchasing a capture card I was streaming through lightstream. They have the ability to add your party chat through the stream. So I never thought in a million years it would be this confusing on OBS.

Please help ❤️

As you mentioned you can setup party to go through both headset and speaker. This will have the sounds of whoever is in your party to go out combined with your hdmi output. This would exclude any conversation from you, as you should normally not need to hear yourself talking in a party.
You have 2 options, you can join your party using the xbox game bar on your streaming pc, and capture both your input and output from there. Or you can proceed with just inputing the party audio from the xbox and bring it into obs as part of the hdmi feed, but capture your voice on a mic through your streaming pc and add as separate sound source.
I hop thi helps.
