Please help, Windows Update messed up my settings for school, particularly Window Capture

I told Microsoft to not update my computer, I even set it to not ask for 7 days, but it went and did it anyway, and as expected, OBS is all messed up for my classes today. Teaching this morning was a PITA. And I still have the rest of the day to go (until 8pm).

I got some of the settings reset, but the one I cannot figure out is now when I do a window capture, it only shows the top corner of the window. I can't get it to show the whole window. I've tried re-doing the whole thing in between classes, but I can't figure it out. I've gone through all the transform options, reset it, got stuck in a weird mode in "resize output" (I'll never do that again) but no matter what, I just get the top left corner of the window. Can anyone please help??? Pretty please?

I found this reference: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/window-capture-is-only-capturing-a-portion-of-my-screen.123608/
But I can't figure out where this magical "unlock" button is: " then you need to unlock the screen capture type (display, game, window) and resize the grab handles to snap into the viewport. " I don't know if this will fix the problem (doubtful) but I can't try it if I can't find it.

Please help, I'm desperate at this point. I've watched a dozen or so youtube videos that have nothing to do with my problem and been searching this board since 7am, I'm exhausted and past my breaking point, and want to go to M$ and throw rotten eggs.

I figured something out, but still no solution. Microsoft updated something about display resolution. So if I run OBS normally, I can't see any of the text on the screen, it's too small. So I have to run OBS in compatibility mode. The troubleshooter wants to run it in Win8 compatibility, but I've tried other settings with the same result. If I take it out of compatibility mode, then I can get the full window to show up in OBS. But then the text in OBS is too small for me to read.

Please help, I'm literally crying here :( My hate for M$ grows with each tear that streams down my cheek, one for each of the 20+ years I was a M$ programmer. :(

I rebooted, and it started working again. It's something related to the resolution, but I have no idea what it is. As long as I can finish today, and I can figure out how to block future M$ updates, I'll be fine. Physically, not mentally.

This normally occurs due to 'resolution scaling' in Windows. OBS doesn't handle it well, and much of the time Microsoft enables a 125%-200% zoom for high resolution displays (4K mostly).

The 'lock button' is in the Sources list, the little padlock on the right side.

Thanks! After this happened, I started having issues with OBS crashing my computer. Weird, right? I thought it was updates at first, but then I noticed that it was only OBS that had the freeze-crash issue.

The answer was to let Windows select compatibility, and it chose Windows 8 compatibility. Again, weird, but the resolution is correct and it's been running fine since.
