Please help video and audio don't match

You sent a crash report, no obs log. Is this by intention?

Question 2: Do you really talk about a faster-slower issue, or do you mean a sync issue (fixed timely offset between audio and video)?

If you mean a fixed delay between audio and video, you can right-click onto the sources' audio channel in the obs audio-mixer and go into the advanced audio properties. There you find a possibility to set a delay compensation for each audio part/source.

Okay then. Here are the screenshots. It's a german obs installation, but you should find accordingly...

Click on the gear wheel on your audio-track in the audio mixer, go to the advanced properties below.

There you should find the compensation delay for desync. You may put even negative values in here.

Remark: The delay puttin' in here can't be checked by your monitoring device the same moment. You have to make an (even short) test recording. The monitoring device (often your headphones) grab the signal before the delay is applied. So check the recording quick with an external player, like vlc.

I didn’t realise I’d have to make a test recording to test if the audio offset I enter worked, thanks for that tip….might explain a few things I’d seen happening that I couldn’t understand so I’ll check that out. Thanks!

I have done everything that is needed to resolve audio and video syncing. when we are only using it for streaming for church. the camera is an Avipas 1071 . no matter where i put the offset it is not working. I clap and then see the video a second or two later. I have gone negative on the offset as it will let me and nothing changes Help

@St James Church Ummmh, we don't know nothing about your environment. How do you get the feed from the Avipas? Thru IP? Thru HDMI? The latter shouldn't have so much delay! Please check this first.

Such big compensation is hardly possible with this internal possibility by OBS. If really needed i used a vst-2-plugin for such case (you can use vst-2-plugins in the filter chain of OBS). Search for the free ReaPlugins, especially the ReaDelay plugin. It's a delay up to ten seconds if needed. Take full "wet" signal and turn the "dry" signal completely down.

By the way (to all topic readers): Using an external plugin like described above means that you can monitor by headphones the delay within OBS, too. But beware: Using that in the church may drive you crazy. In my case audio and video fits then, but the sound in my headphones is delayed a couple of dozens milliseconds behind the live sound coming from stage/crowd.

We use a what I call an ethernet cable with a converter to USB. per Avipas tech support.

@St James Church

Possibly this is another issue than those in this thread. Then open another one please and post your log-file there.
