Question / Help Please Help, my audio(game and mic) doesn't record

My audio(game and mic) doesn't record, I hava alternative to the mic recording, but I would like to record the game audio with the game video. Can someone help me?

1. Can you post log with your issue?
2. Do you see your mic audio source in the Mixer's list (with green bar "dancing" when you speak)?

Don't forget to playback the recorded file using VLC from videolan.org. If you are using a Windows music/video player you won't hear any audio

But how do I turn it into a file that could be heard by windows music/video player?

It's a codec problem you would need to recreate the audio track into something that Windows Media player understands like wma. There are ways to do this but they are so long winded you are better off using VLC as your standard media player.

Wouldn't moving it into VLC media player and turning it into a wma audio file then inserting it into Sony Vegas with the original video work?

For most editing software the codec should be fine it's just the players that ship with WIndows which have problems. I open the recordings in Sony Vegas without an issue although you do have to make sure you have the latest updates otherwise Vegas does not see the audio tracks. I'm running Vegas 12 build 770

These are all free-with-limits versions of paid editors but you may find them to be enough for what you need.
