Hi! I need some helpful information, pretty please...
My main source of income is my Youtube channel and I'd like to introduce a 24/7 music livestream for my viewers.
I want to use OBS (to stream) and VLC (to play the music playlist). But, I DON'T want to run the stream from my main home computer. I'd be fine running it from a Raspberry Pi (if it's capable) or other small device that would be capable or running everything on a VPS I'd rent offsite.
I'd rented a cheap VPS before and it didn't suit my needs at all. It was much too sluggish and choppy and a real pain to run OBS on. The 24/7 livestream would consist of a large (3-8GB) looping video file in either 720p or 1080p as well as a large (20-50GB) playlist of individual mp3 files.
In essence, I don't want to run the stream on my personal computer or invest hundreds on a second "streaming computer". I also don't want to spend hundreds of dollars a month renting a ridiculous VPS if that's what it takes.
I feel that I'm comfortable investing $100 or so into equipment for the endeavor, or paying up to maybe $40 a month for a capable rented service.
What should I do???
