Please help: How to Add video capture device

Hello and thank you very much for your help.

Setup:
1. We bought and installed a UNV PTZ camera: IPC6322SR-X33DUP-C
2. Also bought UNV NVR

We bought this to stream our church services.
We previously used a much older PTX dome camera and picked it up through the web browser.

After watching some video, it was advised that it is much better to have a HDMI cable between the NVR and PC running OBS and use the NVR as a Video Capture device. I connected the PC & NVR with a HDMI cable but OBS still does not pick the NVR as a Video Capture device.

I will really appreciate any advice I can get. I know it is something small and that we are very close to get it to work.

That looks like an IP camera, so you should be able to get a stream link to put into the Media Source, assuming the camera and OBS are on the same network. Check the docs for the camera or try accessing it via your browser to figure out what the stream URL is.

Be aware that IP camera are not usually designed for real-time use and may have significant latency.

From your description of the setup,you have an IP camera ( UNV PTZ camera: IPC6322SR-X33DUP-C ) connected to a network video recorder (UNV NVR) which provides power over ethernet (PoE) for the camera and an HDMI output for video which you then want to feed into a PC running OBS. If this scenario is correct(ish) you will need a HDMI to USB convertor to connect to the PC.
