Hi I'm kind of at my wits end trying to workaround and fix this very odd issue.
Firstly, I record PC flatscreen and VR gaming gameplay with OBS v29.0.2 (Yes I understand its an old version, PLEASE bear with me).
I record gameplay using my PC and Steam Deck (Using Steam Link/'Remote Play' to connect to my PC remotely).
The Steam Deck Headset Mic is streamed to the PC, and captured by OBS.
I use Touch Portal to control the START/STOP recording, Select Scene, etc in OBS while not sitting at my PC.
Everything NORMALLY works fine without issues, or I'm able to workaround any issues encountered.
Currently I've been having an issue where OBS has been recording my Mic device 'Steam Streaming Microphone' (This is the output device of the 'Remote Play' Steam Deck client device) device as a robotic tinny sound, and I've been poking around a lot to find out what it is. After much much MUCH experimenting, it seems that the issue is OBS, and seems to resolve IF I START OBS AFTER ANY GAME I wish to record, then my voice sounds fine without issues no robot voice. I have tested this repeatedly and verified it. This happens in every game while using OBS.
I GUESS that that it might be some kind of device control issue, where OBS wants exclusive control of the device, and somehow running the game FIRST somehow doesn't happen?
I'm not sure really, I have been all over the forum and internet searching for answers, so I've registered and account to ask for HELP, PLEASE!
Here are some sample recordings, and I have also attached the OBS logs from these exact recordings.
Recording using OBS started before the game.
Recording using OBS started AFTER the game
Please thanks for any help!
