I've been using 1080p for a while but lately changed to 1440p recording. At first i used high quality, medium file size. Changed to Indistinguishable Quality, large file size, for game and desktop recording.
The problem is that if i use Windows Media Player to play the video from my USB 3 HDD then my HDD activity spikes from low to high constantly, and the video/audio lags in short intervals. If i play the same video also from the external HDD but using Media Player Classic, there doesn't seem to be an issue, and there are no spikes in drive activity while playing the video, only if i jump to another point in the video but it doesn't appear to lag.
I can play the same video through Media Player mostly fine with my SSD, there's just sometimes a couple of second delay if clicking to another point in the video. But it appears to play fine through Classic there too, or better actually, since jumping to different points is practically instant.
So, anyone know why i have high disk usage and such lag when using Media Player for big files through the HDD?
