Question / Help Pixelated Recording

I have just downloaded and began using OBS purely for the purpose of recording gameplay to my hard drive. I was recording TF2 gameplay and the recording is extremely pixelated, but framerate is good.
Here is what it looks like:

I just want to know how to solve this issue. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

8 Gb RAM
GTX 660 Ti 3 GB
Recording on a HDD

Looks like really low bitrate. Post a log file so we can see what settings/system you have.

im quite sure you didnt set anything ... so you are running something like 1080p@30 with 1k bitrate/buffer.

all you have to do is leave 1080p@30 set quality balance to 10 and buffer to 0 and you wont have any problem (you can leave the bitrate at 1k)

That made no difference, but thanks for trying. This is my first time using the software and recording video, so I'm not quite sure on many things.

then you didnt change the buffer to 0 bitrate 1000 buffer 0 will allow obs to use as much bitrate as it wants for recordings ... so yes it should really do its job as long as you didnt fail then again post a log next time

I don't know what you mean, but I just turned the Bitrate up to 8000 and it works fine, not problems in game either. Thanks.

I changed the buffer and bitrate to 0, seemed to fix the pixelisation issue, leaving the bitrate on 1000 was still giving me recordings like OPs photo.

I know this is an old post, but I was looking for ages for a resolution to this.
