Question / Help Performance losses while streaming (720p/30fps).

I'm streaming CSGO and I got 144hz monitor, so I have to get AT LEAST 144fps all the time. I stream with downscale 720p while I got 1920x1080 in-game and when I play without stream: I got about 300fps all the time ( I got fps limit at 300 ), but while stream is on.. It's 140-250 (usually 180-250, but some maps drops it a bit) and even when it is 230, it feels like 100FPS (everything takes some milliseconds more time to calculate+draw = SCANDAL) and I just cannot perform how I do usually. I've tried to play with 1280x720 resolution and 4:3 1024x768 etc. but FPS still stays exactly same :O

I don't know which component needs to be upgraded.. I got GTX 760 2Gb (MSI Hawk), i5-4690K, 8Gb 1600Mhz ram, SSD.

My internet is 20/20. Bitrate is 2500. There's some streamers streaming CS:GO with EVEN 720p/60fps with GTX 660 and they got no problems, so I think my GPU is enought, is it?

Not a pro here and I got some questions on the forum also, but what I've read & gathered so far is that if you play and stream from 1 system, the CPU is usually the bottleneck. I've read that i5 is great for gaming but when you introduce encoding etc, the default is to go with an i7 processor. My guess is that you have to upgrade to i7 or stream from another pc. There are some drawbacks on that too as you will have an 60hz view (when using a capture card) and not use the full potential of your monitor.

That's what I was thinking about, thanks man :)

Hi KIW,

maybe iam not expert too, but seems to me your setup is far enough for 720p@30fps stream.
Pls post a log file so we can see more.

Peace

It's fair enought + stream doesn't get any losses, but notice: I got 144Hz monitor = 2.4x more frames to draw at every second! It works perfectly while streaming something else than CS:GO/FPS games

1) dont use different buffer size for bitrate, just leave it same as bitrate or just dont use it at all
2) you are using "capture monitore", what i know, its the pooriest way to capture
3) in your Settings, in Advance tab, set your encoding profile to Main
4) i saw in log from 31.12. 2014 0138-11 that you probably had some problems with connection, probably twitch side since i had those too since yesterday :(
5) i think for 720p@30 2000kbps bitrate is enough, you can try lower it

thats all i can see atm

Ya, when you talked about Log's I analyzed them by OBS Log analyzer and I dropped the " capture monitor " from Desktop scene and made some little changes --> CS:GO had the same FPS as it has before ( while streaming ) but at this time it still performed a lot better.. Dunn why but I love you guys.. i7 not needed, yet :) <3

You are welcome, if its helped even little.
Also i saw in some other post about CS:GO, that some guy had turn off multithreat support in CS:GO, because it was capping his CPU while streaming.
Maybe you can try it.

Peace
