PC RESOURCE

I have been using OBS studio for livestreaming and I have been able to get used to it quickly. I have a problem with sync of audio to video and am at 20000 ms but audio still around a second ahead. The pc is an i7 but it only has 8Gb RAM. I wonder if an increase in RAM would improve the video performance? Any suggestions from the collective?

which model i7? there are ancient models that aren't up to the task of real-time video encoding
And are you using a USB camera, and is the USB Root Hub overloaded with other traffic (causing the lag/delay in video signal)
if that is a 4+ year old PC, you may well need to focus on optimizing your Operating System setup to reduce hardware resource demands (CPU, RAM, etc), by disabling unnecessary background tasks/processes, apps., etc. ex make sure OS eye candy turned off, etc
And then there are the OBS settings which can drive hardware resource demands
