Hello,

I just installed the latest version of OBS Studio and used some time checking settings recommendations before starting up the stream.
When I play Overwatch without streaming, I have a stable 100-120 FPS but when I started up my stream, it goes down to 40-60 FPS and the picture on my stream is laggy (had a friend watch while I played).
I'm hoping someone can tell me what I can do to make both the stream and the game run smooth.
If more information is needed to help me, please ask for it.

My system specs;
AMD FX-8150
GTX 960 2GB
16GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
1920x1080

Internet connection:
100/10 Swedish fiber

OBS settings;
Service: Twitch
Server: EU Stockholm, SE
Video Bitrate: 2500
Encoder: Software (x264)
Base res: 1920x1080
Output res: 1280x720
Downscale filter: Bicubic
Common FPS: 30
Renderer: Direct3D 11

Log file: https://gist.github.com/3ec82d82dcbba7d9be5be8bc2ef6624e
Thanks in advance.

If Geralt is not amused it means its very common issue and no one searches the forum.
use 60hz refresh in game +vsync

you can use lanczos downscale and x264 high profile for better quality
make sure cpu can handle game+x264. install hwinfo, run it in sensor mode and stream for 2-3min. stop and check hwinfo max cpu usage column. if its close to 90 or more you need faster cpu

but what if i dont want to play in plebeian amounts of FPS
what if i have a 144hz monitor and actually want to play in 120+ fps without having my character teleport around the map just because im streaming 60 fps
do i have to stream at 300 fps in order to play at 300 fps????
and where is this "refresh rate" option ingame there's only "frame rate cap" 0-300.

then get a not-plebeian 2 pc setup with 1000$ cpu, capture card and video splitters
second step is to stop necroing threads
