Question / Help Overlaying a video clip?

I've tried searching the forums, but to no avail, is it possible to add a videoclip as a source in OBS?

Using an external program is acceptable as well, but I haven't really been able to find anything that would work.

The plugin section has an alpha ffmpeg plugin to playback video files. Then there is the BrowserSourcePlugin which allows to playback videos in a flash/html5 player and you can window capture a media player and use Sub-Region to only show the video without borders.

Oh, i'll take a look at the ffmpeg plugin, alpha, but its worth a try.

I can't really capture input from a browser, my screen realestate is simply to small to have that as a viable solution (no second monitor at the location I am going to stream from)

I've looked into some virtual desktop solutions, but none seem to work with OBS.

Well the BrowserSourcePLUGIN doesnt need you to run a browser for adding the video. You add a html file to the plugin which embedds a flash player. Everything runs inside of OBS and you see the video only in OBS. Audio playback works as well, though you might have to convert your video to the webm format.

I can capture MediaPlayerClassic (with MadVr renderer, I didn't try with others) using Game capture, I suppose you can do this with VLC too
