Question / Help Output file from OBS is reporting a frame rate of 1000?

I have noticed when loading the raw capture file from OBS into VLC and looking at the codec information the frame rate is reports as 1000 despite be selecting a 30 frame rate capture. I though something was amiss as the movement of the game didnt seem fluent and looked a bit 'off'.

Any ideas what the cause could be?

Try recording to mp4 and see if you get the same unsmooth movement.

The "1000" fps is a file read issue with some software (Windows Explorer for example). It goes away if you use OBS's remuxing feature, but should not affect playback or encoding. Please attach an actual log file of a recording attempt so that we can see what actually causes it.

Yeah setting to mp4 reports 30 in VLC, whats the issue with mkv then?. I use mkv as if the capture ever crashes then at least you can salvage whats been recorded!?
