Option for old sub region selection box

I have been using OBS for a long time and I remember a long time ago sub regions use to be selected through a redbox that is the same as the one used controlling the scene in obs. I really just don't like the sub region box because it can sometimes be hard to tell a precise crop.

What I am suggesting is maybe an option somewhere to switch between using the current one and old one for subregion select.

I don't know what kind of red box you mean. OBS has does subregions like the way it does since at least November 2012, when I first started using OBS.

I guess I am wrong. I thought there use to be a different look to it that was similar to the red box in the scene
