Question / Help Optimizing settings to record a full screen application

Although the files with Obs are now larger, and the quality worse. But I guess that's something to do with the settings (and the potential of this current PC anyway)

yes they are larger, x264 low cpu uses less cpu - you have only 2 cores and its old amd chip...you can go back to crf 19 / veryfast / high profile for better quality
or install afterburner to monitor cpu load (no more than 90%) and experiment. maybe you could even try original 1600x900p30 without scaling with the x264 low cpu setting
