Question / Help Optimized Lagging

Hello All,

For a fun activity during our quarantine I thought I would do a Facebook Live Bingo with my friends. This is my first time using OBS (any type of broadcasting software in general but I have a good handle on it). I have all of my scenes and sources all set. Currently (just testing by going live on my desktop and checking the lag on my phone) I have a 7-8 second lag. Now...with Bingo I want to have the least amount of lag as possible so that when someone calls Bingo I can catch it before I call another number. This can be fixed by just waiting on calling numbers, but I didn't know if anyone had advice on the best settings for this specific situation. I don't need my recordings saved...I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not but I thought I'd throw that out there.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That amount of latency on a Facebook stream is normal.

If you want something closer to 1-2 seconds, you can use a service optimized for low latency streaming like Mixer.com.

hi - are you using any kind of overlay for the called numbers? we are trying to set up a bingo event on OBS too...looking to create/find some kind of overlay we can edit in realtime to show the numbers called, onscreen...too much to hope for?
