Hi,
I have the following setup:
Gaming PC:
3 x 27" ASUS G-SYNC Monitors
i7 4790K 4.9 MHz
3 x GTX980
32 GB RAM
Windows 10 x64
Gaming Resolution: 7680x1440
Recording/Capture Resolution: 2560x1440
I ONLY want to capture the middle monitor, hence the 2560x1440.
I can get this to work with local recording using OBS however, I do not have the disk space nor can I handle the frame loss.
This is why I want to move to a 2 pc setup. I will offload most of the CPU cycles and hard disk space to my second PC.
Questions:
1. What hardware & software is required on my Capture PC?
2. What is the optimal software configuration on my Capture PC?
3. What additional hardware & software is required on my GAMING PC?
4. What is the optimal software configuration on my GAMING PC?
I will require a capture card on my capture pc,correct? Will I be able to capture the resolution of 2560x1440? The cards I see for sale have a max resolution of 1080p. Any recommendations for 2560x1440 (WQHD)?
Also... My monitors connect to my video cards using DisplayPort 1.2. How will I physically connect/cable up the machines or is it over LAN?
Thanks
Lefty
