Question / Help Only Records a black screen

so i know that it talks about this in that one forum on the front page or whatever but it is of no help because it does not really explain how to actually fix the problem
it explains what is the problem but not how to fix it
i am on laptop i just dont understand how to fix it
please help
i just need instructions
