Question / Help Only recording 4 seconds?

After I record the file shows it as only being 4 seconds long. If I watch it I can see the entire video, but if I try and import it into editing software only that 4 seconds will be available. Really frustrating :( Is there any way to recover that footage?

What editing software are you using?

For the record, there are precisely ZERO valid reasons to save directly to mp4.

Sony vegas pro 13. And what format would you recommend for two audio tracks?

And if your editing software doesn't support it, file -> remux recordings in OBS.

I do believe that it worked. Thank you so much. Is there anything I can do about the footage I messed up?

EDIT: I figured out a fix! I remuxed the footage that was messed up into mp4 again and it fixed it. Thanks for everything, Harold. I'll record to mkv from now on.
