Hey all,

First time poster and really hope you someone can shed some light on an issue I am having at the moment.

I am running OBS Studio with PS4 and Hauppauge PVR2 GE+ to Stream to YouTube. When I am running the stream the max I can hit is 480p, This is the same on payback even after the video has processed.

Broadband
Down: 60mb
Up: 18mb

Please see images for the current settings I am using. In the Video capture I can't seem to adjust the resolution any higher.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Are you trying to rescale the Hauppauge 480p input up say to 720p or 1080p? Currently your Hauppauge device is set to 480p you need to change this to say 1080p then scale it down to 720p for streaming.

If you require any further help best to post an obs log, to do this can be located as a sticky, also ensure you steam for a short period before you post as it will contain further info.

Hey bud,

Thank you for the quick response, I think this may be where the problem lies. I can't see how to adjust the Hauppauge upward of 480p. The device itself is set to the highest I believe but in OBS I can't seem to adjust this above 720x480 resolution, that is the only option I have and I can't figure it out.

I had a look around for a few guides but came up empty

Hi,

Np, yes that seems to be limiting it, check the Hauppauge drivers, also see if via the Hauppauge software it can capture in 1080p.

If I recall correctly the Hap. has an HDMI in addition to analog ports. If that's true you have to hook up your PS4 via HDMI, turn of HDCP on the PS4, set the Hap. to capture via the HDMI port, and set the PS4 to output 720p (or 1080 if the device supports that), and in OBs make sure that it is set to capture on the Hap.'s HDMI port.
