Old game resolution issues

So I was trying to play an older game (2001) that has 2d menus at a fixed resolution while have a 3D game environment, meaning every time I switch to any sort of menu or pause screen in the game OBS changes the resolution size to go with what size has been forced to be on windows. I was looking to see if there was any sort of work around for this what so ever so the game and the capture for live streaming could maintain one full size during all of this.

thank you for getting back to me!

There may be a more streamlined method to do this, but one thing you could try is:
  1. Create a new Scene for the raw Gamepplay footage
  2. Add your game capture source to this scene, and set it to Transform > Fit To Screen (Ctrl+F)
  3. On the scene you actually want to use, remove the orginal gameplay capture and instead add a Scene Source... Choose the new RAW scene created instead of the original game capture source.
Because the Raw Scene uses the same canvas dimensions as your setup, the gameplay footage should - theoretically - continue to resize within that scene, but the source you add to you main capture scene should stay in place, as it basically previews what is happening.

If the issue still persists, advising us on the game and method of capture (game capture, display capture, window capture etc) would help to determine a different method for you.
