after much trail and error with clearing up my audio issues on stream with skype....a great little tutorial popped up on youtube describing how to connect zoom and OBS via virtual camera and virtual audio cables. it all looked super easy and was demonstrated working in the video. I set it up identical to the description....and nothing. when I start the virtual camera zoom gets a piece of my OBS scene background, audio isn't outputting at all. nothing in zoom, nothing in OBS. folks make this all look super easy in tutorials but there is something missing for me that i just cant pin down.

Zoom Basic
OBS Studio
Ryzen 7 2700X
Geforce RTX 2070
32gb ram
Onboard sound hardware on a asrock X470 taichi
realtek high defintition audio drivers
Turtle beach elite atlas aero wireless headset and mic (USB)
Logitech HD C920 webcam. this is the oldest component of my rig leftover from my last PC.

I seen a couple of lines mixed in in various articles and tutorials that the onboard audio hardware and realtek drivers could create issues for this but none of it went into specifics. anyone got some ideas/theories they can lend?

After a recent update the Zoom application no longer seems to recognize virtual cameras. Zoom has apparently not commented on the situation as yet. Could be a bug and the functionality could return in a subsequent version. Could be Zoom has decided not to play nice.

There are 2 things that you need to do. 1) From the Zoom video settings, select the Advanced Settings button in the lower right corner. Change the video rendering item to anything that doesn't say Auto or Flip. I have successfully used each of the 3 options but for my system the dIRECT3d11 version works best. 2.) In OBS Window Settings change the Capture Method from Auto to the appropriate setting for your machine ( for me it is the Windows 10 1903 update) . This works with Zoom v5.00 and OBS v25.0.8

We broadcast live on Thursdays at 4p CDT the video goes out to Youtube and then into the pillarsoffranchising.com website.
