Question / Help Offloading Resources

I was wondering how much better i can stream if i duplicate my screen while gaming to another computer through a avermedia HD capture card and use that computer to encode and upload so i can lower the presets of the encoding and get the video more compressed because of my high motion games. Streaming at 720p.

Thanks in advance.

I do the same except that my upload is slightly less than 1Meg. Speedtests show about 990K. So I'm stuck at around 480p, but I hope to upgrade my connection soon. Anyways there's really no comparison because you can safely max out your streaming computer when it isn't the one you game on too. I have an intel e4300 in my streaming box and I set it to faster, fast was too much for it. When I do my next upgrade my current i7 will be "demoted" to streaming and then I imagine I'll be able to use medium or slow.

If you've got another PC that can handle the encoding for much lower encoding speeds. Then itll be alot better since your not depending on it rendering for both the PC and the Broadcasting software. There are people who do this and love it, since they can pretty much max out settings without being hit by the resource intensive encoding processes. Your just limited by your upload speeds.

It's possible, it depends on how powerful the second PC is.

A encoding PC removes almost all of the burden from your primary PC (with the exception being the tiny bit used to duplicate your monitor).
