Hmmm...maybe I am missing something but what is the issue you are having?

Did you watch the video? Everything is skipping like crazy.

Edit: Okay.. That's odd. I just watched the video on my laptop and there is no skipping. Must be something with Twitch.TV website. I don't know. So then let me ask this question. You know that little green box in the bottom right corner? It keeps jumping from 40kb/s to 500kb/s and back to 40kb/s. Don't ever remember that happening before.

You must be having some issues with your Flash player or your Flash/browser combination, it plays back fine here.

Edit: Okay, so you noticed that already. Also, maybe you had CBR (constant bit rate) enabled before? The default is Variable Bit Rate, and the bit rate will fluctuate depending on how much is happening on screen.

I was using version v0.661 I think it was and didn't have the jumps. I just recently update to 0.466 and that's when I noticed the jumps. I will check my options, where exactly can I find it?

To be honest, I don't know enough about CBR internally. It apparently lowers quality a bit (and that does seem to be the case). Others say it's great because it's less bursty and and is good to use for networking reasons.

I honestly would have to actually understand the codec to its core to have any real opinion about it.

Jim, Twitch strongly recommends CBR to all large broadcasters. For numerous reasons, VBR tends to led to a significantly higher number of lag complaints from users, and increased streaming problems for broadcasters. While even a well tuned one-pass CBR does lower the perceived quality of the encode slightly, that loss is more than made up for by the reduction in stream stutter.

if you have the bitrate set to 2000, then yea, that's normal

Oh okay. That makes sense. I have it set at 2000 and the buffer at 2100. Although it could just be my flash player again, the screen seems to be going solid green every now and again.
