Question / Help Odd Fluctuations in bitrate - previously flawless.

Hello all,

Hoping someone can take a look at my issue. I've checked through the forums and tried everything I can think of.

Here's some background:

I've been streaming on Youtube Gaming about 7 months now have had near flawless streams, aside from a few normal hiccups here and there as is normal. I've researched a ton, feel I have a pretty decent handle on things and stream 6 days a week. On Tuesday some of my viewers mentioned the stream was bufferring/stuttering so I checked OBS and I noticed my bitrate was fluctuating crazily. I have it set to 13k where it's been for months (my internet speeds are more than sufficient) but it would jump from 12.5k down to 1k and back up and down, all over the place. I am used to minimal fluctuations but this is way out of the ordinary. I switched servers, restarted the stream and it was better and eventually worked itself out over time and remained stable.

Now, fast forward to today. Today I was unable to stream because I the bitrate was all over the place. It was about 10 times worse than it was on Tuesday. So bad, in fact, I had to cancel my stream for the first time ever due to a tech issue. I called my ISP after checking all the usual things. None of my settings had budged and nothing so far as I can tell has changed in OBS. My ISP had me reset the modem/router and everything is fine. Speed tests are good. Pings are perfect. I can watch other streams on YT without issue but I still cannot get the stable bitrate I had up until Tuesday. One thing I did notice is when I did a tracert to youtube.com I had a ton of timed out hops. I've attached a screen grab of that as well to the thread. I'm at a loss here so any help anyone can provide I'd be most grateful.

I just did a test stream and here is the log for that:

Thank you.

Also, forgot to include this in the original post: I am not receiving any encoder overload errors. Seems to just be an upload issue. Still boggling over here.

Thanks, that was my initial thought as well. What I am struggling to understand is how its affecting things. It seems to only be affecting my upload...not my download as I can watch streams on YT, Twitch Netflix without any issue.

simply contact ur ISP -> maybe show them some logs -> tell them u want it fixed in the next 5 (working) days -> if not try to lower your payments

Thanks for the advice. Here is something else to consider. I just traced the route from my work pc to youtube.com and the results are surprisingly similar to what I attached in my original post. Any thoughts on what would cause that? Is it possible that there is just a connection issue going on with YT?
