so for the last few weeks i have been trying to stream using my ryzen 7 1700x with OBS via x264 and no matter the PRESET my streams are messing up and also causing my games to stutter. the one thing i notice using MSI afterburning OSD is that out of my 16 threads whenever i start my stream it only uses the 1st 4 cores which are also the cores that the game i am playing is using causing them to rocket to near 100% clogging the core being used for the game.
with the ultrafast cpu preset it minimizes the stutter almost completely but my stream rubberbands badly once i start to up the preset it increases the usage for the 1st 4 cores and causes my game to stutter
i have tried to use threads=X command but it dosent change the load on the threads.
one thing i noticed is on Heroes of the storm on the main menu once i used the "threads=X" command i had extremely smooth stream video and no stutter but once i loaded in the game and the cpu usage went up it caused my game to stutter badly and my rendering and encoding lag skyrocketed- it may have not even been the command and was just the low system usage in the menu i just noticed my stream was the smoothest ive ever seen it
i have been using Nvec to stream which it self has been a pain to get smooth as it causes that dumb rubberbanding effect on my stream as well but i want to use my ryzen cpu
my computer follows as is
1440p 144hz g-sync monitor ( base resolution 2560x1440p -> output 1080p/720p but i recently forced Base resolution to 1080p -> 1080p/720p output)
ryzen 7 1700x stock w/ h100i vs
crosshair VI extreme
2x8gb trident Z rgb cl 14 3200mhz
950 pro 512gb
EVGA GTX 1080 classified
EVGA 850 G2
he is my log from today about 4 hours of on off testing starting with Nvec then switching to X264 a few hours later
