I am currently using obs studio 0.15.4 and streaming to twitch.
At present I can not stream to twitch if I am using the elgato game capture hd via video capture device source. Everything looks good in the preview and I press start stream, obs indicates to stop stream - this usually mean it is encoding and I am live... but nothing is happening on my twitch channel, i appear as being offline. As such I try to stop the stream but the button states as "stopping stream" perpetually. I have to terminate OBS to attempt to relaunch the stream.
My stream encodes correctly if I do not use the elgato via video capture device but instead via window capture, capturing the elgato software. This means I don't get game audio unless I unmute the elgato software (doing this means I get a repeat of what I have already moments ago when playing). Going via elgato also pulls some odd contrast/brightness on my monitor. Of course this method is also more resource intensive.
Please let me know if you have a solution to this issue or are also in a similar predicament. I have always ran into some sort of issue at any given time using the elgato in conjuction with obs.
Thanks,
Brodie
