Question / Help OBS Wont Capture Game or Window

Okay so the problem I'm having with OBS is that it won't capture any game I run, and when I try to use Window or Monitor capture instead, I just get a black screen. It was working when I first installed it about two months ago, but now it doesn't want to capture anything at all.

I'll list my basic computer specs if that helps any.

AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight Core Processor
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Hopefully somebody can help me resolve this.

i having a similar issue. doesnt matter which obs i use. mine is only with window capture. sames issues though black screen. although i will some times show my mouse cursor.

running a i7-4790k and gtx 970 ssc


ah ha! i have found it at least for my window capture. i was trying to capture from google chrome with window capture. i had to go into chromes settings. go to "show advanced settings" then un-check use hardware accelerated graphics. hope this helps anyone else who might have been having the same issue i was having.
