OBS won’t close properly and breaks Task Manager

When attempting to close obs the program stops responding and after clicking close program in the prompt, task manager is completely broken. You can still click end task on programs but the ui is completely frozen and only reflects the program usage of when task manager was first opened and it doesn’t reflect any changes you made. Attempting to reopen obs causes an already running message to appear but if you end task on obs in task manager and try to open it nothing happens. The only way to fix these problems is to restart the pc.
I have tried fixing this by going to %appdata%\obs-studio and deleting everything there. But after setting up obs the same thing still happens. Does anyone know anything about this problem because i haven’t seen anyone else report this

More stuff i discovered breaks when i close obs: trying to close a steam game makes steam try to close the game indefinitely. Trying to go back to lock screen makes everything worse with an infinite loading screen and only way to fix it is by turning off pc, ctrl alt del doesn’t work

This sounds like a driver issue, only a kernel handle being stuck would give the issues you describe. Make sure all drivers are up to date and try removing any unnecessary peripherals to isolate the issue.
