Question / Help OBS will not show screen in screen capture mode with The new Version of Skype nor with Google Hangouts

My Skype just updated, and of course I cant re-download and install the 7.xx version so I tried Google Hangouts. This is not working either. Does anyone have a suggestion that will work. We use this for our regular podcast and this is a big problem.

Having the same issue. I run a bi monthly stream with Skype/OBS and the new version just gets the black screen. Super frustrating. I can install the 7.x version but it looks like that's being phased out soon.

To successfully capture the new Skype for Desktop version, you need to launch it with --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositing added at the end of the shortcut link. Please be aware that this may impact performance

Google hangouts runs in chrome, so you need to turn off hardware acceleration in chrome for that to work.

Still not working for me. Tried disabling "hardware acceleration" and still getting the Google + avatar like my camera is off even though I set it to OBS in settings. Also, the camera mute is blinking every few seconds.

Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong? I stream both to Twitch and game Google Hangouts every Sunday with a bunch of friends from all over the globe. I've not been able to display my OBS since the last couple of upgrades.
