OBS video is blurry but guvcview is clear

Hello,
I am having a problem recording wtih OBS Studio on my Fedora 41 Linux system. The video is blurry. I have already tried a bunch of settings changes based on searching in the forums here but they didn't fix the issue. They were also all in the Windows forum, not the Linux, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
Recording with guvcview produces nice, clean video though, at the same resolution. I would just like to use OBS Studio because it's much nicer software.

Do you mean that the recorded .mp4 is blurry? That could be because of the compression and quality settings you are using.

Otherwise, if the camera looks blurry in "preview" - that might be something else (not that I can see anything suspicious in the log)
 
Sorry, somehow I missed your reply before.

I mean that the recorded .mp4 is blurry. I also tried .mkv and get the same result.

What should I change in the compression and quality settings? I did try the suggestions on the threads I found but none of them fixed the issue I'm having.
 
I don't have the same type of GPU (I'm on NVIDIA), so my options are different, but in your case I'd try different "ICQ Quality" settings. You may need to switch to "Advanced" settings in the Video settings to change this.
 
I was able to get decent video (comparable to guvcview) by using an ICQ setting of 20. I had to create a new "scene" preset tho because the old one would only show the top-left corner of the feed.
