Question / Help OBS using more CPU than PUBG?! Even though I am encoding with GPU

Hey guys, so I have streamed quite a lot of stuff over the past couple of months. Never had an issue. I do a Windows Update and suddenly OBS cant handle anything!?

I stream entirely coding through my GPU yet my CPU usage in task manager is 25%. In OBS it states it should be using around 7%.

PUBG is currently using about 20%. Anyone have any ideas?

The CPU Usage percentage in the bottom corner of OBS does not show full system CPU usage. It doesnt even show CPU usage with OBS in total. It only shows the usage of the OBS process.

If you go into the Task Manager (assuming you are using Windows 10) you should see OBS in the "Processes" tab along with an arrow next to its name. Opening that up will show the OBS64 process and a number of cef-bootstrap processes, one for each Browser Source you are running (if any).

Currently with OBS running in idle (not broadcasting), my CPU is at around 30% usage. 25% of that is OBS overall, and if I open the tab, the main OBS process is using about 15% (which is what it shows at the bottom right of the OBS window), and the remaining usage (roughly 10%) is being used by a number of browser sources.

If in your Task Manager it shows one percentage for OBS, but OBS is saying something different, try opening up the process to see if there are any cef-bootstraps, and what they are adding to the mix.
