Question / Help OBS uninstalls itself?

Hi, I am having an issue with OBS uninstalling itself.

Basically, I'll run it for a minute and then it will just close. No error message. And when I try to re-launch it, it says the shortcut cannot be found.

I can reinstall it most times fine. Sometimes, however, it will even remove the installer file itself from my downloads.

One thing I am kind of worried about is if this is a hacker issue or not. I had a run in with a hacker during my streams where he ended up DDOS'ing me. Is it possible for him to close this remotely and uninstall it without me seeing any messages?

If it's not hack related, what could be causing this?

Three possible causes, 2 of which more likely than the third:

• Your anti-virus
• A hacker/backdoor
• Virus/malware

The last one being the least likely, actually. Since I see no reason why a virus would behave in that particular fashion.

So, a couple of questions:

• Which AV are you using?
• Do you have any other symptoms?
• How long ago was this run-in with the hacker?

I'm using AVG free.

No other symptoms I have noticed. Only AVG will ask if it can block or allow OBS injector or whatever it's called. I say allow.

Hacker was only the one night that I know of.

Use any (or all) of the above to look for malware that your AV may not have picked up on. Because, really... OBS does not uninstall itself. There is an uninstaller for it which will uninstall OBS, obviously. But OBS will not randomly launch this uninstaller for no reason. Basically meaning -- something is really very wrong with your Windows installation or configuration.
