Question / Help OBS to YouTube

I am very new to YouTube and even newer to OBS, so please be patient.

I have been streaming to YouTube via the Chrome browser. It has worked well, and is certainly quick and easy. However some viewers have complained about the quality of the video.

I was told that the video quality was not as good as it could be because Chrome uses a limited bitrate and I should have plenty of bandwidth to be able to increase that. Since it cant be adjusted in Chrome, OBS was suggested as an alternative.

I downloaded, installed and set up OBS and did get it working, more or less.

What I need is a step-by-step procedure for starting OBS, connecting to YouTube and creating a live stream. Because each stream will have a unique title, I need to be able to use a "persistent" YouTube streaming key as the individuals who create the content are totally non-technical, and I need it to be almost as easy for them to create the live stream using OBS as it is when using the simple Chrome browser approach.

Any assistance is appreciated!

Thanks, but I was looking for a little more than that.

I know how to get a streaming key from YouTube.

I also know how to paste it into OBS.

What I was looking for was knowledge as to if the streaming key in YouTube changes every time I create a new, differently-titled live stream or if it will remain the same across different streams. I want the key to be static so that it doesn't have to be entered for each new live stream.

I also was hoping for a SIMPLE, step by step procedure that I could give to "non-techies" who create the stream content. I wanted something as simple and as uncomplicated as possible for them.

Thanks!

Thanks!
These video tutorials are informative and well done but I didn't find one that really addresses OBS and YouTube specifically.

I suggest you to watch OBS tutorials on Youtube

Any luck, SPACC? I think you and I are looking for the same thing. I started using the webcam stream on Chrome, but need more quality and control, so OBS seems like the trick. But I haven’t found the answers to all my questions, especially when it comes to scheduling streams.

I used to get this all the time. For me, under "Settings-VIDEO->I set the base & output to 1920x1080 (and audio to 128kbps) and that fixed the issue for me.
