OBS Templates/Overlay for Business

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to OBS and really love the capability. I do streaming almost daily for my job. Has anyone seen any decent templates for business use? Doing a Google search brings up diddly. I'd like the best and least cluttered layout to do presentations, shows (I do tons of tech demos) and screen sharing. Also be nice to have a decent business card or identification on screen. Any thoughts or guidance?

I have the same issue. All the overlays, that I have been able to find, are for gaming. But that look is way too "busy" for ordinary business presentations. I mainly use OBS for recording e-learning sessions, but I have not been able to find more plain, minimal (or even "boring") overlay. I would gladly pay, but where to go?

Go to Fiverr and search on "OBS overlays" and hire someone to do the work for you. It is up to you to specify what exactly you want at that point.

You can also download free software like Inkscape or GIMP and create your own. Otherwise, Fiverr is a great resource. Aside from that, there are plenty of designers out there looking for work.

Expect to pay them, as they deserve.

I was just confused, since there are 2000+ gaming overlays available, I was thinking that there might be business themes as well (as with most other software).

I would prefer to buy something pre-cooked. I don't need anything custom, just boring/traditional business.

OBS doesn't provide any gaming overlays. All the ones out there are independent companies making money selling them, and individuals sharing what they've made out of personal generosity.
Business-oriented ones are markedly less popular as it's not been a common use-case until recently, and many companies have internalizing cultures that forbid sharing resources... especially with other companies. Gamers tend to do it for fun, and so are more wont to share what they've made. A company will generally just tap an internal designer or artist that they're already paying, rather than going external.

That said, it's not hard to knock something out in Inkscape. They're just image files anyway; PNGs and whatnot. If you can't do it yourself, there's a ton of designers and graphic artists looking for work in the current climate. Fiverr is a great spot to try, and if all you're looking for is static 'fill in the whitespace' and 'static layout to fit stuff into', it shouldn't be too expensive.

Avoid pre-cooked. Using canned business overlays results in other people using the same template. You don't want that as it doesn't provide any unique branding. You could also end up getting sued for look and feel.

Get a piece of paper or use MS Paint and draw the borders and sections. Label each section and its purpose. Then email it to the Fiverr person and let them use their natural talents to create your business overlay.

You TELL the consultant to create a custom business overlay for you. Its up to you to decide what it looks like. If you don't have a clue, then you don't know what you want. Always know what you want. A consultant isn't going to know exactly what you want and he/she isn't going to want to go through lots of revisions consuming his/her time to appease you. You are going to have a contract with someone. You need to get the look and feel and terms put out there along with agreed price. For if you or him/her become dissatisfied, the first thing going to be asked is in a court of law is what were the terms of the contract you both agreed to.

Marc, I've begun creating OBS templates for businesses. Are you still using OBS or looking for templates?
