OBS taking up all my upload (50mbit) after around 1 1/2 - 2 Hours of Streaming on Twitch

Hello Guys,

I got a problem with my OBS, usually whenever i start streaming after a while (between 90min and 120min) i get Upload Problems, no paket loss but high ping (like 150ms) and when i look at my modem (Fritzbox 6591) it says something is taking up 50mbit of my Upload (thats my entire upload, i have 1gbit download/50mbit upload, and using cable internet, ISP is Vodafone germany)

but when i look at my Taskmanager and OBS it says it takes only 2-3mbit upload (I stream with 8mbit Upload on Twitch) and the connection starts become unstable. After a while it would take down to 8mbit upload on my Modem and everything works fine again but usually only for a few min before it starts going maximum upload again for like 15min.

does anyone know how to fix that? I already asked my ISP and they say thats its probably OBS fault.

i have 1 other pc, 2 phones and 1 tablet in the network, im 100% sure they dont use the upload
the 50mbit Upload taking also INSTANTLY dissappears once i stop the stream and starts when i stream again

I monitor my local network with my fritzbox modem, it tells me who is in the network and how much download/upload is used in real time.
in the attached picture you can see how it looks like

But this not show which device use upload.
Disconnect all other device and check again streaming.

streamed again today
no other device was connected to my modem except my PC from which i streamed
still, after exactly 2 1/2 hours of streaming it started again, 50mbit upload used on my modem
stream would go from 6k upload used to 2-3k upload instead

highly doubt it, i had the same thing when i, which i forgot to mention, 2 years ago, where i streamed on a complete different pc and a different modem.

Given that task manager is only showing an upload in the range of your streaming bitrate settings for the OBS process, it's not likely actually OBS taking your upload.

It's more likely either some other program on your computer that has done a good job of hiding itself OR something on your router is failing oddly.

Is it really 50m using then? When you only see the 2k..6k by OBS and nothing else?
Maybe your provider is throttling your upstream after hours for constantly using with high bitrate? Maybe its a fault interpretation of botnet protection. If you can you should contact them.

ill call them and see if theres anything like that
i also forgot to mention that im streaming for 1 month now, the first 2 weeks were fine and everything worked flawlessly, but then suddenly one day it would lag and since then it would lag every stream

Guys, after 1month of tryharding and doing everything, i finally found the reason why it would spike the upload
it was my webcam, after exactly 2 hours of streaming, it would cuz my fritzbox to take 50mbit of upload
as soon as i switched to scene or removed the webcam, the Upload would go back to 6mbit like it was before and everything working fine

That's... not really possible, unless your webcam is uploading a second video stream outside of OBS.
OBS reports how much bitrate it's using. Malware aside, your ethernet adapter reports how much it's using.

Even if your webcam was trying to do something insane like send an NDI feed to a destination out on the internet, that upload usage would be reflected in your task manager at the very least.

yeah it sounds unbelievable, but i literally tested it today onstream
I had 2 scenes, one with webcam, one without
after 2 hours the one with webcam would lag
i switch to the same one but without webcam
it works now
i switch like 5 or 6 times around, just to make sure, it lags everytime its on the webcam scene
i add a webcam source to the scene without webcam, it starts lagging to
i remove the webcam source, it works again
i stream without webcam for 2 hours longer, hasnt lagged once

update guys:
i added my Phone as a Webcam via browser source (with obs.ninja) and after around the same amount of time, my stream also started to lag
It seems the Webcam itself is not the problem, but a source beside the gameplay that is constantly showing a video causing it
does anyone knew about a solution about that? I would really like to stream with a Webcam, but currently, its only working without on.

edit: i also gone from OBS studio to SLOBS and imported my setttings/scene there, the same thing happened there too

Hopefully you understand what you are doing with obs.ninja. You are sending that video stream out to the internet on a constant basis (at what bitrate?), then retrieving it, then sending it back out again as part of OBS stream

Using OBS.ninja for remote cameras makes sense. Using it in same room?? uh, there are MUCH better approaches. In general, Wired is always preferred due to lower latency, consistency, easier troubleshooting (and the list goes on).

i only did it once to test if i have the same problem with a normal webcam (so to make sure its not the webcam itself and i would need to replace it)
and the same problem happened
so its not only a webcam problem, but rather about a problem of OBS taking to much upload as soon as a permanent second source is on the scene i guess

By your own diagnostics, it's not OBS itself eating the bandwidth, and given that task manager on that computer doesn't show any other programs eating the bandwidth, it's likely something on another device in your network.

i got some kind of update guys, after around 1 1/2 months its still not working, but theres some additional information i want to share

1.It only happens when a Webcam is being used, happens with my Logitech C920 and if i use my Phone as Webcam via obs.ninja
2.The Problem only persists on Twitch, I dont have that problem on Youtube and everything works perfectly there
3.On Twitch, when the Problem happens and i deactivated my webcam or close OBS, the problem still persists for around 5-15min till it normalizes and everything is fine, if i still stream and deactivate my webcam however, 1min before its getting better, my OBS tells me that 50mbit upload is used (basically all of my upload, normally it shows me that 0mbit is being used while its lagging)
4.I tried using other Software beside OBS Studio (Twitch Studio beta, Streamlabs and Xsplit) and none of them have worked so far, so i guess its not a direct OBS problem itself, but more of Twitch only problem.
5.I also switched my ISP from Vodafone germany to Telekom germany, so the chance of it being a routing problem is also pretty slim.

Basically the only way to stream for me right now is either on Youtube or on Twitch but with no Webcam, but since i would still like to stream on Twitch, preferable with my Webcam, im still looking for any tips or a solution, sadly at this point i pretty much tried everything, atleast i could narrow it down as good as i can, but the actual solution seems out of reach still

I was thinking about buying a new Webcam, since the current one is pretty old (Logitech C920,bought it atleast 5 or 6 years ago) but i have the feeling that the chance of it actually working is aorund 5%.
