Hi everyone, it's been frustrating my relationship with obs for years...it always seems not to work when most needed.

Recently I bought a hp pavillion gaming with a i5-9300h and a intel hd 630 + a nvidia gtx 1650.
Obs studio the first install didn't work. After reinstalling it started working out of the box.... but sometimes I turn on the computer to start working, and it doesn't work again... One time I notice that changing the keyboard to US triggered it to work again, but now this is also not working...

And by not working I mean...black screen...

log

Using windows 10 last update 1909

How can I fix this issues? I need obs to work when I need it :D

Thank you :)

It looks like you're on a laptop with both discrete (Nvidia) and integrated (Intel GPUs).

In this configuration, OBS needs to run on the Intel GPU to perform a display capture. It is currently running on the Nvidia card.

In the 1909 update, you change this setting in Windows:

Same issue.. it was working at start when I ran it using integrated GPU as it doesn't work on GTX1650.
Now again even after running using Intel UHD 630.. the black screen issue persists.. But it does show up my secondary display.. Just not the primary one.. Plz fix it and reply me.

Open OBS. Start an output session (streaming or recording). Observe your issue. Stop the output session. Upload the Current log without quitting OBS.
