I have Studio setup just fine for streaming purposes. I'm creating this thread for the recording side of things.
Have the format set to mp4, audio tracks are at 2(for game and mic), rescale output at none(recording and playing at 1080p), rate control is CQP, and that's set to 15. Encoder is of course NVENC, preset is at default, and profile is main, and level is auto. Use two-pass encoding is checked. Downscale filter is lanczos 32 samples and I'm currently only recording at 30FPS for test purposes.
My setup is as follows:
4690K
980 Ti
16GB RAM
All SSD's for my setup. One for Windows, one for games, and one for my OBS and Shadowplay recordings.
Getting around 15%-20% cpu usage when using NVENC. Odd, considering it's supposed to take a load off of the CPU and I'm not even recording at 60FPS at the moment.
Edit
I'm looking to for software to give me a bit higher quality over Shadowplay. OBS Studio does that and more. Very happy about that, but the CPU usage is a bit high all things considered.
