Question / Help OBS Studio randomly stops streaming, while OBS Classic doesn't

Hello there,
I am new to the forum even though I am using OBS for almost a year now. The main reason is, that whatever problem I had, I always found that someone already asked for this in the past. Sadly not this time.
I've been streaming with OBS Classic for nearly 6 months now without any problems. Once I found the right settings, everything worked fine.
About two weeks ago I started to build up my stream on OBS Studio. I use the same settings for Studio that I used for Classic, but apparently Studio doesn't like me I guess.
Studio randomly stops streaming to twitch. Sometimes it happens after 2 hours, and sometimes after 2 minutes. I have no idea why this happens, it seems to happen for no reason.
The mean thing is, that OBS doesn't even tell me that it stopped streaming, I wouldn't even recognize it if my viewer wouldn't tell me that the stream is offline. Studio just keeps running and saying that it keeps streaming. I looked into the log file and there is no mention of any "crash" or anything. The next thing that is written in there is when the user stops OBS from running once I close the program.
To restart the stream I have to close the program and restart it (only clicking on "Stop Streaming" and then "Start Streaming" doesn't help, nothingwill happen then).
I checked all settings like 15 times, I am pretty sure that I have exact the same settings as on OBS Classic. And I can stream with OBS Classic without any problems and as long as I want to. The longest I've streamed with Classic was about 18 hours.

How can this be the case? Is there any setting I've missed in Studio to solve this problem, that Classic doesn't have but is essential to keep streaming?

I tried to upload the log file but it wouldn't work for some reason. If you think it'll be necessary to solve the problem I'll keep trying,

Please excuse any mistake I made in the post, I am from Germany and haven't been writing in English for ages.

Thanks for any help,
TAM

The log you posted only shows you stopping the stream manually.

That's because that's all I did. The stream was already offline on twitch. So I had to stop the stream, close OBS and start it again to restart the stream.
As I sad, there is no warning or crash from OBS, I wouldn't even recognize that the streams offline if my viewer wouldnt tell me.

There are several people reporting issues streaming with Quick Sync in 0.16.2, but I've seen reports that it's fine in 0.16.3. Try updating to 0.16.3.

Hello there, TAM,

I have the SAME EXACT issue as you have !!
I also came back to using the old OBS because I have no idea how to fix it.

Did you fine a solution? I didn't try streamig on the new 17.0.0 version, maybe it helps?

Cheers !

So, I decided to give another shot to OBS Studio today, after patching it to 17.0.0 and after exactly 56:03 minutes of streaming on twitch, the issue explained in the OP happened and I keep wondering why... I didn't touch anything and there was no way to know that it stopped streaming except by looking at the dashboard/stream channel directly on twitch...

Help? Would be appreciated, I wish to transition to OBS Studio ;)

I'm so sorry I didn't pay attention carefully. Thank you for taking the time to help, here is what you really asked : (though numbers aren't much different it seems to me).

There really shouldn't be any reason for such a disconnect. It is still probably something ISP side rather than OBS side though.

Do you have any advice on what I should try? Can removing everything and reinstalling help ?

I wish the OP would respond, maybe we have things in common... Using an ACER laptop, being in Belgium, being born in march (jk), idk :)

I tried changing a few things, switching to the Paris server instead of Amsterdam, reinstalling. But after exactly 32 minutes of stream, the same issue happened. And to "fix" it I had to press on stop streaming and to close and restart OBS Studio because it wasn't even noticing the fact that it failed itself :/

Unfortunately going back to the old OBS (which never showed the issue)
