Question / Help OBS Studio Officially Messed Up! FPS Drop Ongoing Problem.

There must be a problem with OBS Studio. I've been reading a hand full of thread about how someone is getting 100FPS in game and the stream is only outputting 20FPS or something like that. It seems that all everyone can say in reply is, "Oh, it looks like your GPU is overloaded."

This is obviously a new problem that must have came out with a past update or something. I've personally been working with someone on the OBS forums to figure out why I'm having that same problem and we've found no resolve. I've given all the information that I can get my hands on. I've done little test streams and I've done super long streams to see if there is anything that can be found in the OBS log to give some insight to the problem.

I've gone as far as uninstalling OBS and doing a 100% fresh reinstall and I still have the same problem as of today. I'm getting on average 55FPS playing Battlegrounds, but my stream says I'm outputting 15-20FPS, lol. It's become laughable at this point because no matter what game it is... Battlegrounds, Overwatch, Rocket League, League of Legends, and more I'm sure, this problem just keeps going on.

If anyone has some insightful opinions or advice feel free to leave it.

Short version from what I see in your original thread (which is not locked by the way, you shouldn't open a new thread on your old issue) is that your video card cannot keep up with all you're trying to do on it.

It's not an obs issue.

This is obviously NOT a new problem, OBS has always needed some GPU resources to do scene compositing and downscaling. If your GPU is already at max usage just from running the game, the fps in OBS will suffer.
So limit your fps in the game.

@Osiris there are user posting about this same issue with better GPU's then I have. You telling me the 600 and 700 series is no longer a usable GPU for streaming using OBS? Sounds a little absurd to be honest, but if it's factual that myself and other that stream need to upgrade to a 900 or 10 series then by all means I'll do it if that's going to solve this problem. It's just a little funny that this problem has only been going on for the past 3-4 weeks when I've been streaming with no problems full time since mid January.
