Question / Help OBS Studio not recording audio, when using record.

I had the same problem with the audio, in my recordings. However, i always like using VLC media player. It will play many encoders. Vlc was previously installed when i tried playing the file, but did not work, as well as other media players.
So i uninstalled vlc, and reinstalled vlc, in the audio settings, i have a choice of track 1, which did not work, but selected track 2, in audio settings in Vlc, and the file played flawlessly, to my satisfaction. Vlc is one of the best media players out there, so why not use it. I have it set as default media player. That is why VLC works, because others dont. FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an odd similar problems:
Last night, I was streaming and recording video. everything was almost right. I stopped streaming and recording, and I started again. I am afraid the audio was not streaming or recording anymore, although the sound indicator in the OBS was changing! I did everything I thought. I stopped and started again, I exited from the OBS and started it again. But none of the above solved the problem.
Now the recorded files have no sound even with VLC program (except the first file).
I also attached the log file.

I seriously cannot believe that this has not been fixed and people are actually trying to blame this on the playback application as if we have never worked with audio codecs before.... Just got finished with a recording where the levels and monitoring were working perfect but it decided not to record any audio, recorded a couple more short clips and only a handful worked, the others just decided not to record... The passive aggressive jabs at WMP, Premiere, Vegas etc that I keep reading are an absolute joke and further proof that OBS still is not ready to take over the userbase from solutions like tricaster and vmix.

And yet a lot of these people who are having trouble are able to open the files fine in VLC and MPC-HC, which tells me that it IS the program that people are trying to open the recordings with.

I'm having this same issue. I read this thread, download VLC and it made it worse...no audio still AND my video recording is all jumbled up and weird.

lol I was facing the same issue but guess what I had plugged in a mic to the headset section
